Langkawi, Malaysia

Suggested 14 day Cruising Program


The Langkawi archipelago sits off Malaysia’s northwest coast, in the Andaman Sea. This cluster of islands offers plenty of protected anchorages in all wind and sea conditions, and their northern beaches and bays are among the finest in the world. Langkawi is a gorgeous cruising area, featuring high cliffs and hundreds of potential excursions. Swim in a freshwater lake, or visit the wildlife sanctuary to see sea eagles and monkeys. The islands of Langkawi will serve as your gateway to unspoiled paradise and an unforgettable sailing adventure.




Day 1: Departure from Royal Langkawi Yacht Club

Depart from the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club and plan an early morning sail towards Pulau Timun.


Day 2: Pulau Tepur

Mooring in front of Monkey Beach on Pulau Tepur, you'll find monkeys descending the hills to enjoy the white sand. There are wonderful restaurants and shops to explore all along Pantai Cenang beach - the most popular beach on Langkawi. Sock up on provisions, and see the Aquarium if you have time.


Day 3: Pulau Gubang Darat

Spend the night at Pulau Gubang Darat on Dayang Bunting after a day excursion to the largest freshwater lake on Langkawi - the center of some very mysterious legends. After your short hike to the lake, you'll want to cool off in the refreshing waters.


Day 4: Langkawi

Crossing towards mooring in front of capital of Langkawi. Possibility to do shopping in the numerous duty free shops of the city. Kuah Town marina allows refilling water tanks.


Day 5: Kilim River

Kilim River Geopark almost feels like another planet, a breathtaking mixture of mangroves and mountains. Dine on fresh local fish at nearby restaurants, including the famous Fish Farm.


Day 6: Tanjung Rhu Beach

Tanjung Rhu Beach / Datai . Navigation toward Tanjung Rhu Beach on North Cape of Langkawi. Very beautiful beaches edged of casuarinas. Beautiful navigation with a great view of surrounding islands and Thailand. Evening mooring in front of Datai hotel frequented by Jet Set. Evening swimming.


Day 7: Perdana Quay harbor

Make your way to Telaga Marina, whose Perdana Quay harbor park features plenty of dining options and a walkable promenade.


Day 8: Ko Lipeh

Begin sailing towards Ko Lipeh, an island inhabited by Chao Leh, a nomadic seafaring culture. White sand beaches are edged by numerous restaurants and shimmering turquoise waters.


Day 9: Ko Lipeh

Spend the day exploring Ko Lipeh, and you'll realize why the Chao Leh call it home.


Day 10: Ko Adang

Ko Adang is an uninhabited island, famous for its bright coral reef and an ancient waterfall.


Day 11: Ko Rawi

Ko Rawi is another uninhabited island perfect for exploring. As you roam around the island, you'll see many waterfalls, each more stunning than the last.


Day 12: Ko Buthang

On to Ko Butang Islet, where the forests are lush and the white sand beaches are perfect for lounging all day. Feeling more active? Spend the day snorkeling!


Day 13: Back to Royal Langkawi Yacht Club

Sail back to Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, and enjoy the penultimate day of your Dream Yacht adventure.
