DAY 1: 25 miles (max 3 hours) of smooth sailing between Puerto Cortes & the National Park of The Sapodillas Islands in Belize. This is a string of palm covered islands in a Pacific style.
DAYS 2 & 3: Exploration of several of the Sapodillas Islands:
- Seal Cay (a jewel) Lime cay (where we can buy fresh lobsters)
- French cay (has a small resort)
- Tom Owens cay
- Ranguana Cay (just a little piece of paradise)...
All those islands offer good anchorage with superb snorkeling all around. Distance between the islands are short and sailing is very comfortable as protected by the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world.
DAY 4: Placiencia, a peaceful seaside fishing village where you can find restaurants, small supermarkets, different stores, banks, dive shop... many hotels & resorts ready to receive tourists... but not yet spoiled by tourism! Local people there are very friendly and everything is still authentic.
DAY 5: South Water Cay, an Idyllic Island right on the reef. Great Beach, Great snorkeling, Great Diving.... & Bar & Restaurant on the Island.
DAY 6: Short sail to Glover Reef... A coral atoll, as in Polynesia, outside the Barrier reef.... Exploration of the Atoll
DAY 7: Sail back to Puerto Cortes
