Our base at scenic Marina village is the first stop on your Croatian charter holiday. Marina is a traditional Croatian fishing village untouched by time, with pretty white stone houses, tiny squares and welcoming waterside restaurants waiting to be discovered. Use your first day to provision your charter yacht before sailing into the warm embrace of the Adriatic.
Your first day on the water sees you sail out of the inlet at Marina Agana and across the Split Channel to nearby Brač. Aim for Brač’s western coast, keeping the island of Šolta to your starboard side as you cruise towards picturesque Milna. There’s ample mooring in the town’s three marinas, so secure your yacht and explore the shops, restaurants, bars and cafés of this charming coastal gem.
Squeeze through the narrow channel between the islands of Šolta and Brač, cruising east along Hvar until you reach the narrow inlet at Vrboska. Croatians know Vrboska as ‘Little Venice’, and when you arrive you’ll soon spot the resemblance. Walk the waterfront and explore the network of streets at Vrboska, or pull up a seat in a waterside restaurant for some delicious Croatian cuisine.
Retrace your steps along Hvar’s northern shores, admiring the views between Hvar and neighbouring Brač as you sail the sapphire Adriatic. Turn south at the island’s westernmost tip, pointing your bow in the direction of the spectacular Paklinski Islands. The largest island in the chain, St. Klements is home to the Palmizana Marina. Moor here to hike the island’s verdant interior and enjoy beautiful views across the Adriatic.
Vis is Dalmatia’s most westerly large island. To reach it you’ll enjoy a spell of exciting blue water sailing through the beautiful, still waters of the Adriatic. Head for the western side of the island via Vis’ rugged and leafy north coast. Sheltered by a broad headland, Komiža Town waits for you to discover its secrets. A town of pale stone and terracotta roofs backed by scenic hills, Komiža is alluringly beautiful. Visit the ancient castle, stroll the picturesque waterfront or settle into a friendly restaurant for some delicious seafood and local wine.
Complete your tour of the Gulf of Kaštela islands with a return visit to verdant Šolta. Back out on the Adriatic, you’ll pass through miles of open water towards the Dalmatian Coast. You’ll find the town of Maslinica on the western end of Šolta, flanked by a handful of small islets protruding from the shimmering Adriatic. The town has been built around an attractive narrow inlet, which gives way to a scenic piazza home to the local market. Stop for dinner in a local restaurant or take a dip in the still waters of the bay.
It’s a short journey from Maslinica back to our base at Marina where you need to arrive no later than 5pm, so take the time to enjoy your final day and do a little more exploring. Visit Krknjaši Lagoon for a long lunch break in picturesque surroundings, or stop at the ancient fortified town of Trogir on your way back to marina Agana. With so much to see along the Dalmatian Coast, you’ll want to make the most of any hours you have left.
