DEPARTURE BASES
Koh Chang Marina:
The base is located in the Koh Chang archipelago in the province of Trat on the eastern Gulf of Thailand, best suited to sailing from November to April. Koh Chang is Thailand at its most chilled and perfect for a relaxed sailing vacation. The region is only slowly developing as a tourist destination and, while there are plenty of lively spots, there are also numerous quaint fishing villages built on stilts, where life has not changed much in hundreds of years and sailors are guaranteed to find a warm welcome. Open October – March
Koh Samui:
The base is situated close to one of Koh Samui’s best and most popular beaches. Bo Phut has handled its evolution from quiet fishing village to a classy beachfront resort well, and it is a great place from which to begin a yacht charter. Koh Samui, Thailand’s third largest island, is known for its lush vegetation - coconut palms and emerald paddy fields. The centuries-old fishing industry is still important, but modern tourist attractions, including golf, elephant trekking, jungle safaris, Thai cooking courses and bungy jumping, have all intermingled well.
