No, you only need experience on similar boats you'd like to charter. If you don't have much experience, we are happy to assign a skipper for a day or as long as you think you need to get you up to speed.
The currency is the Thai Baht. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in the main tourist areas but not in rural locations. There are ATMs in all the towns but not in the islands. Traveler Checks are accepted only in big resorts. Banking Hours are from Monday to Friday, from 9am till 4pm.
The documents you need to enter Thailand include a valid US passport for the duration of stay. No visa requirement for stay under 30 days when sailing Thailand. For longer stays, visitors can apply for a 2 x 2 month Visa in any Thai embassy in the world.

In Thailand there is roaming available, just check the activation of the international option and the price of the contact before your departure with your local cell phone provider. At our office, you can also purchase a local SIM card.
Sailing conditions in Thailand include 10-15 knots of easterly winds and caution is needed as the water can have very shallow depths. Up to 3.5ft is the tidal length.
Moonsoon Seasons The Northeast monsoon, with dry and bright weather northeast, with winds of 5 to 20 knts, is from October to May.
The South West Monsoon is from June to October. The wind goes from south to west, and is 5 to 30knt. It's hot and rainy.
