TRANSFER FROM AIRPORT TO BASE
Buses operate between the city of Rio de Janeiro and Angra dos Reis on a daily basis. The bus stops at Marina Verolme main entrance, and the docks are about a 500m walk from there. The bus company from Rio de Janeiro to Angra dos Reis and Paraty is Costa Verde Transportes. To get off at the bust stop at the marina tell the driver in advance.
We work with Cesar Tour, a trusted partner, which uses cars that can transport up to four passengers and vans for up to 10 passengers. For more information, speak to our base manager. Notice that, costumers are responsible for paying the driver directly in local currency.
It is not advisable to rent a car in Brazil.
The currency is the Brazilian real. U.S. Dollar, Visa and MasterCard are accepted in the main tourist areas but not in rural locations or small businesses.
To enter Brazil, visitors require to have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry and a Visa. Visas are not required for British and EU nationals who stay less than 90 days. Brazilians with dual nationality must enter and leave the country. Travelers need to display a return ticket as well as proof of evidence of ample funds to cover their stay. Contact your nearest Brazilian embassy or consulate for more information about visas.
With light breezes ranging from 8-14 knots, the prevailing wind is from the east/southeast, and typically begins to blow stronger after midday. The sea is relatively calm, reaching maximum 4 ft, without strong winds or large tide variations. Often early in the morning, due to the night and day temperature difference, a north offshore wind blows about 15-20 knots.
Between April and May is the best time to visit Brazil’s Green Coast, as well as from September through to early November. With an average annual high temperature of 86°F and average annual low of 64°F, the average annual temperature is 74°F. Water temperatures average 70°F.
Between November and March, precipitation is at its peak. June-August are the coolest months.
Electricity on land is 110/220 volts. Houses and electric plugs use 110 V, while 220 V is used in industrial sites, such as marinas. Our boats are 220V, compatible with our base. In other marinas, always ask for assistance before connecting the shore power, you may need an adapter.
