No, you only need experience on similar boats you'd like to charter. If you don't have much experience, we are happy to assign a skipper for a day or as long as you think you need to get you up to speed.
The currency is the Mexican peso (MXN). US Dollar, Visa and MasterCard are accepted in the main tourist areas but not in rural locations or small businesses..
Visitors must have a passport and a Forma Migratoria Multiple (FMM), temporary or permanent resident card or a tourist visa. There are special document requirements for dual Mexican/American citizens, particularly minors. We advise you speak to the Mexican Consulate General’s office in Los Angeles, CA, or visit your nearest Mexican embassy or consulate.
Mexican citizens are required to have a sailing license to sail in Mexico.

Depending on zones with cellular antenna, mobile phones and Internet will work, don’t forget the roaming fees! Our marina has free Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi in La Paz is good, and most cities and towns have Wi-Fi hotspots at bars and restaurants. There’s no phone coverage in about 70% of our sailing area.
Night sailing is not permitted. We will provide you with the required park permits to visit Espiritu Santo Island. A fishing license provided by the Mexican government will be required for anyone who fishes from a boat in Mexico. Fishing licenses can be ordered online..
