Fly to the Whitsundays (Whitsunday Coast/Proserpine airport) from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Brisbane flights are direct and take 1.5hrs. Airlines that service both airports are Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Qantas & Virgin Blue.
TRANSFER FROM AIRPORT TO BASE
Transfers: Transfers may be organized to and from the Whitsunday Coast Airport with “Whitsunday 2 Everywhere” or “Airlie Limos”. Transfer time is approximately 45 minutes. If you need a transfer from the airport to the base, please contact us, we will be happy to assist you.
The Australian dollar is the rcurrency. U.S. Dollar, Visa and MasterCard are accepted in the tourist areas but not in rural locations or small businesses.
The documents you need to enter Australia include a valid passport for the duration of stay, and a visa valid for 90 days. Talk to us to make sure you have the correct documents before you travel for your Australia yacht charter.
Depending on zones with cellular antenna, mobile phones and Internet will work, don’t forget the roaming fees! There is free Wi-Fi in our marina, which you can use on your Australia yacht charter. Also, if you visit cafes and restaurants you can find free Wi-Fi.
Sailing conditions are South-to-South East winds in the winter, in the Summer North-to-North East winds. There are strong tides in main passages that you will need to consider when planning your itinerary. On both sides of the island, there are very protected Bays/Shelters if wind gets too strong. Spring is from September to December, Summer is from January to March. Spring and Summer are both wet tropical seasons, with risk of Cyclone and Heavy rain. From April to August is Autumn and winter, these are drier months with a temperature around 22 to 30 deg.
